IMUGA health declaration

Since July 2021, the Maldivian authorities have changed the entry requirements for the paradise islands. All arrivals are required to complete a health declaration: this is an information document on the tourist's health, filled in and submitted by themselves on the basis of a questionnaire.

WHERE AND WHEN TO COMPLETE IT
The health declaration must be completed within 96 hours prior to departure to the Maldives. After completing the declaration, the tourist will be given a QR code, which must be registered. It must be presented to customs when crossing the border.

WHAT DATA IS CONTAINED IN THE DECLARATION
The declaration provides data on the tourist's state of health, the countries visited in the last 2 weeks, the place of stay in the Maldives (if you are staying on a cruise ship, please select "K.Male").

WHAT PHOTO TO LOAD IN THE DECLARATION
A photograph of the tourist is required in the declaration.
It is necessary to take a full-face close-up photo.
It is preferable to take a photo against a light background.
Look directly into the camera.
Make sure there are no red eyes and that no shadows fall on your face.
Photos with a hidden part of the face are not allowed, so don't wear sunglasses or cover your face with bangs that cover your eyes.
Take photos against a uniform background so that other objects don't fall into the frame.
You can take a photo yourself on your phone. The important thing is that the photo meets all the requirements.

HOW TO OBTAIN A QR CODE
A QR code is automatically generated when a tourist fills in a declaration form on the website, downloads a PCR test and confirms travel details on the website. The code appears in the browser window. The image is saved in "png" format.

If, after filling in the declaration, information about an error is displayed, try filling in the declaration again, remembering to "clear the browser cache" so that the browser does not retain previous errors.

You can check your QR code by clicking on the following link:

WHAT YOU MUST WRITE IN THE RESIDENCE FIELD
In this field, you must enter your home address.

WHAT IS THE NUMBER OF BAGGAGES AND THE NUMBER OF CHECKED-IN BAGGAGES
At this point, you indicate the number of baggage items you are taking with you, if checked-in or if you are traveling with carry-on baggage only.

How to get to the airport

At Velana International Airport, the Maldives' main airport, hand sanitizers are available free of charge, as are floor markings and other signs to maintain a social distance of one meter.

Wearing a face mask is recommended.

As you enter the arrivals terminal and walk to the immigration office, you will be guided past thermal imaging cameras. Those with symptoms of COVID-19 will be asked to go to a separate room for a PCR test for COVID-19.

The Maldives government may carry out random tests at its own expense.

At customs, when crossing the border, you will need to present a QR code, which will be given to you after you have completed the health declaration. The health declaration must be completed within 48 hours prior to departure for the Maldives.

On arrival, tourists receive a free 30-day Maldives visa.
